NATA 2024 Applications Open With 6 Key Changes

Applications for NATA-2024 (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) have been started, but the application deadline is not yet announced.

The Council of Architecture has decided to conduct the test in a new format, over a prolonged period of time and is also permitting Class 11 students to write the test, starting from 2024.

This augurs well for prospective candidates.


Schedule

Applications open: 1 Mar 2024

Test dates: Every weekend (Saturday, Sunday) in 2 shifts per day, from 6 Apr to 28 Jul 2024

While the application process has started, the dates for application closure, admit card release, result declaration etc shall be announced in due courses.


Key aspects to take note of about NATA 2024

Test spread over 4 months: To be conducted on every weekend (Saturday, Sunday) in 2 shifts per day, from 6 Apr to 28 Jul 2024. So the students will have the flexibility of picking a test date from a whole lot oof possible options.

Can Be Attempted 3 Times Per Academic Year: Candidates can appear for maximum of 3 attempts in NATA 2024 in one academic year. The best score out of all the attempts shall be considered for declaration of results.

Result valid for 2 years: The score of NATA Test shall be valid for two academic years from the year in which appeared.

Class 11 Students Also Eligible To Attempt: Candidates fulfilling the below criteria prescribed by the Council can appear for NATA 2024:

i) Passed or appearing in 10+1 Examination with PCM Subjects;

ii) Passed or appearing in 10+2 Examination with PCM subjects:

iii) Passed or appearing in 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as subjects.

Since the result is valid for 2 years, category (a) students can use their result for admission in BArch upon passing Class 12.

Test pattern: The test shall comprise of Part A (offline) and Part B (online).

Part A - Drawing and Composition Test, Offline, 90 Minutes, 3 questions

A1 – 1 Question – Composition and Color -25 Marks

A2 - 1 Question – Sketching & Composition (Black and White)- 25 Marks

A3 – 1 Question - 3D Composition - 30 Marks

Part B – MCQ, online, 90 Minutes, 45 questions

B1 - 30 questions x 2 Marks - 60 Marks

B2 - 15 questions x 4 Marks -60 Marks

Qualifying marks The Qualifying Marks for the NATA 2024 would be based on the following Rules:

a) A minimum of 20 marks must be secured in PART A

b) A minimum of 30 marks must be secured in PART B

c) Overall qualifying marks for NATA 2024 shall be 70 marks out of 200 as aggregate of Part A and Part B.

A Candidate will not qualify in NATA-2024 unless all three conditions mentioned above are satisfied.
